Frontline Plus is the enhanced version of the original Frontline spot-on flea and tick treatment, manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim. Available for both dogs and cats, the range covers four dog weight brackets — small (under 10 kg), medium (10-20 kg), large (20-40 kg), and extra large (40-60 kg) — plus a cat formulation. Each pipette provides one month of protection.

Frontline Plus adds S-methoprene to the original fipronil formula, targeting the flea lifecycle at multiple stages. Fipronil kills adult fleas and ticks on contact, while S-methoprene is an insect growth regulator that prevents flea eggs and larvae from developing in the home environment. This dual action breaks the breeding cycle rather than just treating the adult population, which is why re-infestation drops significantly compared to adult-only treatments. The colour-coded pipettes prevent dosing mix-ups across weight brackets.
