Scottish Folds get their name from a natural genetic mutation that causes their ears to fold forward, giving them a distinctive owl-like appearance. The breed traces back to a single barn cat named Susie, discovered in Scotland in 1961. They're gentle, adaptable cats known for sitting in unusual positions, including the 'Buddha sit' with legs stretched out. Scottish Folds are sweet-natured and form strong bonds without being overly demanding.
