Dermcare Malaseb Medicated Shampoo is a veterinary-formulated antibacterial and antifungal shampoo for dogs, cats and horses. It's used to treat seborrhoeic dermatitis and other skin conditions caused by bacterial or yeast overgrowth.

The formulation contains chlorhexidine and miconazole as active ingredients, targeting Staphylococcus pseudintermedius and Malassezia pachydermatis, the two most common organisms behind canine and feline skin infections. It's also keratolytic and antipruritic, which means it helps lift scale, degrease the skin and reduce the itch cycle. Typical use is twice weekly during active treatment, leaving the lather on for 10 minutes before rinsing. Available in 250ml, 500ml and 1L sizes.

Malaseb is the standard medicated shampoo most Australian vets reach for when a dog presents with yeasty or bacterial skin. It's been the default for years, and the larger sizes are widely picked up by owners managing chronic dermatology cases.
