Royal Canin Hypoallergenic is a dry dog food for dogs with confirmed food allergies or severe food sensitivities. The hydrolysed protein source is broken into fragments small enough to bypass the immune system, eliminating allergic responses to common dietary proteins.
Hydrolysed soy protein provides complete amino acid nutrition without the molecular size needed to trigger food allergy reactions. The recipe deliberately avoids common whole protein sources, uses a single starch (rice) and includes added fatty acids to support skin barrier function in dogs with allergy-driven dermatitis. Suitable for both elimination-diet diagnostic trials and long-term feeding of confirmed food-allergic dogs.
Vets use Hypoallergenic for the standard food allergy diagnostic — strict feeding for 8-12 weeks identifies whether food is driving skin or digestive symptoms. Many dogs stay on the diet long-term: ear infections clear, paw chewing settles, the coat improves and life gets easier.
