NexGard Spectra for Small Dogs is a monthly oral chew for dogs between 3.6 and 7.5 kg. It provides broad-spectrum parasite protection and is registered for use from eight weeks of age.

A single monthly chew covers fleas, ticks (including paralysis tick), heartworm, roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, mites, and lice. The active ingredients are afoxolaner and milbemycin oxime. Because it combines flea, tick, and worm prevention in one tablet, it replaces the need to manage multiple separate treatments on different schedules.

Owners with small dogs in tick-prone areas value the all-in-one coverage — there's no separate heartworm injection or worming tablet to track. The chewable format is generally well accepted, which removes the challenge of administering spot-on treatments to a wriggly dog.
