The Seresto collar is an 8-month flea and tick prevention collar for cats and kittens from 10 weeks of age. It uses a slow-release polymer matrix that continuously delivers two active ingredients — imidacloprid for flea control and flumethrin for tick repellence — in low concentrations across the coat.
The collar is effective against paralysis ticks for up to 8 months, and kills and repels fleas, flea larvae, and lice. It also helps control flea allergy dermatitis. The odourless, non-greasy formulation means active ingredients do not transfer to hands or furnishings during normal handling.
Seresto is water-resistant and remains functional after bathing or light rain, though extended immersion may shorten the protection period. A safety release mechanism allows the collar to open under sustained force, and reflective strips are built into the collar material for low-light visibility.
