Vetafarm Avimec is a safe and effective topical drop-on treatment for Scaly Face Mite (Knemidocoptes pilae) in budgerigars. Scaly Face Mites burrow under the skin of featherless areas including the beak, cere and eyelids, causing progressive damage and characteristic crusty, scaly lesions if left untreated. Avimec's active ingredient ivermectin penetrates the skin to kill mites at the infestation site. Applied as drops to the nape of the neck, the treatment is easy to administer and effective against both air sac mites and scaly face mites. A 50ml bottle provides sufficient treatment for most cases.
