The Halti Headcollar in red, size 1, is a no-pull head collar designed by Dr Roger Mugford in 1979 — the original of its kind. It fits over the muzzle and redirects the dog's head, and therefore body, when they try to pull. Suits puppies and adult dogs learning lead manners, particularly strong pullers.

The design works on a simple principle: control the head and you control the direction of the body. Gentle steering pressure discourages pulling without the choking action of a slip collar or the aversive feedback of a prong. Size 1 is the smallest in the range, suited to small breeds and puppies. Fits over the top of a regular flat collar and clips to a standard lead.

Owners choose the Halti when a harness alone hasn't stopped the pulling. It's a training aid more than a permanent fixture — many dogs graduate off it once loose-lead walking becomes habit. Trainers regularly recommend it for reactive or strong dogs.
