Vetafarm Aviclens is a water sanitiser for birds, developed by avian veterinarians to protect drinking water from bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and algae. It addresses the risk of water-borne illness in aviaries and bird households, where contaminated drinking water is a common but preventable source of health problems.

Added to fresh drinking water at each fill, Aviclens inhibits algae growth, reduces microbial contamination, and supports crop and digestive health by limiting the water-borne organisms birds ingest. A secondary benefit is reduced cleaning frequency — treated water containers develop green slime significantly more slowly, cutting down on the scrubbing required between thorough washes.

Most keepers use Aviclens as a preventive routine rather than a reactive treatment — a few drops per fill becomes part of the daily water change. It reduces the background load of pathogens in drinking water without any noticeable impact that would put birds off drinking.
